A Statement from Claudia’s Canine Cuisine Regarding the Salmonella Peanut Butter Recall

At Claudia’s Canine Cuisine we take the health and safety of our four-legged friends and the integrity of our products very seriously. At BCCH d/b/a Claudia’s Canine Cuisine and Honey’s Bakery we are committed to manufacturing the highest quality premium dog cookies and suckers. Product safety has always been and will continue to be our primary focus.

Like you, we have been closely monitoring the Salmonella outbreak in the peanut butter industry.

None of the products or ingredients used in manufacturing our canine cookies are involved in the recent outbreak and national recall. Claudia’s Canine Cuisine and Honey’s Bakery does not use peanut butter or peanut paste from Peanut Corporation of America (PCA) nor do we use peanut butter distributed by King Nut under the King Nut label or Parnell’s Pride brand.

We have been in contact with our peanut butter supplier and they have provided us with written assurances that their products are not part of the recall and remain safe.

Comments
You do use peanut hulls as filler in your Wholemeals. My dog is very sick after eating it.

Linda,
We confirmed with Mars Petcare USA – the distributors of WholeMeals – that WholeMeals do not contain peanut hulls or any peanut products. Mars Petcare does not receive or process peanut butter products from the peanut suppliers affected by the FDA salmonella investigation.
For information on the products affected by the salmonella outbreak visit www.fda.gov. For more information about WholeMeals, contact Mars Petcare at 1-800-525-5273.
Please consult your veterinarian for the cause and treatment of your dog’s illness.
Thank you for your inquiry and best wishes on a speedy recovery for your dog.
