I discovered the secret to keeping him matt-free is DAILY brushing. With this slicker, I don't have to use a comb as often, because the longer pins do such a proficient job of getting down through his thick coat, while not pulling on his coat.

This brush replaced an older slicker (NOT made by C. Christensen) that my dog ran away from every time I tried to brush him.

Perfect tool for daily brushing my standard poodle's legs, ears, topknot and tail. His coat is staying soft and matt-free, because he doesn't fight being brushed every day with this Karben Slicker.
